The TianoShield project, funded by the NSF Safe-OSE program over 2025-2027, will contribute to the safety, security, and privacy of a key open-source ecosystem, called TianoCore, which is the foundation of the UEFI Firmware. We will deploy modern principles, practices, techniques, and tools, including those based on the state of the art in AI (e.g., Large Language Models), automated software testing (e.g., fuzzing), etc.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>March 12, 2025: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.colorado.edu\/initiative\/cubit\/2025\/03\/12\/second-round-quantum-seed-grants-awarded-drive-innovation-and-impact\">Dr. Moin (PI) won an award in the amount of $50,000 from the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT), administered by the University of Colorado Boulder (CU Boulder), to implement the Quantum Dev (Q-Dev) project over April 2025-March 2026.<\/a> See also <a href=\"https:\/\/communique.uccs.edu\/?p=163881\">the UCCS Communique article<\/a> on this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>February 1, 2024<\/strong>: <a href=\"https:\/\/eas.uccs.edu\/cs\/about\/faculty\/jugal-kalita\">Dr. Kalita<\/a> (PI) and <a href=\"https:\/\/faculty.uccs.edu\/amoin\/\">Dr. Moin<\/a> (Co-PI) won a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nsf.gov\/awardsearch\/showAward?AWD_ID=2349452&amp;HistoricalAwards=false\">National Science Foundation (NSF) award<\/a> in the amount of $465,000 for their Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program on <a href=\"https:\/\/faculty.uccs.edu\/jkalita\/reu-site-advances-in-natural-language-processing\/\">Advances in Natural Language Processing<\/a> over 2024-2026.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>September 22, 2025: Dr. Moin (PI) won a $1.2M award from the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) Directorate for Technology, Innovation, and Partnerships (TIP) together with Dr. Aravind Machiry from Purdue Systems and Software Security (PurS3) Lab at Purdue University in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, as Co-PI.
