This emerging field combines principles from various branches of physics, materials science, and engineering, including magnetism, spintronics, and optics. The primary goal of magnonics research is to understand the fundamental properties of magnons and harness their unique characteristics for practical applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Students and postdoc positions in the group<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prospective postdoctoral researchers who want to join the group are encouraged to apply for funding from <a href=\"https:\/\/new.nsf.gov\/funding\/opportunities\/mathematical-physical-sciences-ascending\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/new.nsf.gov\/funding\/opportunities\/mathematical-physical-sciences-ascending\">NSF<\/a> (U.S. nationals and residents), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.humboldt-foundation.de\/bewerben\/foerderprogramme\/feodor-lynen-forschungsstipendium\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.humboldt-foundation.de\/bewerben\/foerderprogramme\/feodor-lynen-forschungsstipendium\">Humboldt<\/a> (German nationals and those who qualify), or other fellowship programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prospective graduate students are encouraged to apply for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nsfgrfp.org\/\">NSF Graduate Fellowship Program<\/a>.<br>A limited amount of funded positions is available through the ongoing grants. A range of Graduate School and Department-funded scholarships are also available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prospective undergraduate students are welcome to participate in the ongoing research and outreach work. Limited funding is available through ongoing grants.
