Dr. Lee is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs (UCCS). He obtained his Ph.D. in Computer Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin in 2005. His research interests include computer architecture, deep-learning-based intelligent computing (AI computing), application-specific embedded systems (mobile processors), deep-learning architecture and acceleration, cyber security, cyber-physical systems, workload characterization of emerging applications, data analysis, parallel computing and parallel architecture design, performance modeling, low power design, early-stage power estimation, and FPGA (prototyping only). Before joining the faculty at UCCS, he worked for Samsung (mobile division) as a Vice President for 5 years, and he was an assistant professor at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) for 4 years. Also, he was a senior design engineer and senior research staff at TI (Texas Instruments) and ADD (Agency for Defense Development) for 5 and 10 years, respectively. When he was at Samsung, he worked as an adjunct professor at Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU) for 2 years. His research has been published in several international conferences and journals, and he is also a reviewer for conferences and journals. He serves on the technical program committee and organizing committee of several conferences and workshops, such as ISCA, ISPASS, IISWC, ICCD, HPCA, ASAP, PACT, ICPP, IPCCC, and UCAS.
