Pietro concludes his visit to the group

Pietro Micaletti visited us for two months to investigate spin wave dispersions in textured magnetic thin films. It was a very productive research and we are looking forward to continue our work with him and Prof. Montoncello. Unfortunately, the weather did not agree for the photo!
IEEE Magnetic School resumes

The IEEE Magnetic Summer School is restarting after a COVID hiatus this year. The event is organized this year by Vito Puliafito from Politecnico di Bari, Italy. He shared an article about his experience being both a student in 2010 and now an organizer, 13 years later!
That year, the IEEE Summer School was organized at UNO and was also attended by then grad-students Ezio Iacocca and M. Benjamin Jungfleisch, both now collaborating on artificial spin ices! Thanks Vito for the picture!
Victoria obtains scholarship to study at Duke University

Victoria will be attending Duke University in North Carolina under a scholarship to study Electrical and Computer Engineering with an emphasis in Physics. Victoria obtained Type 1 High School Scholarship through the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps Program.
Victoria joined the group in 2021 and developed a method to recover demag factors of stadium-shaped nanoislands from micromagnetic simulations. Her work has contributed to the development and quantitative accuracy of our general artificial spin ice model. We wish Victoria the best in her undergraduate studies!
